Dear Editor:
I wish to strongly commend you for the editorial in the November 18 edition regarding reactions to recent terrorist events. I felt you summarized those concerns very eloquently and thoroughly. I had been party to a discussion just the previous evening where similar concerns arose because it is known that there have been attacks on innocent people and on mosques in various places, in addition to the voices which want to stop our outreach to Syrian refugees. It seems those who decide to respond to terrorism with further violence towards innocent people fail to realize that their actions and their motivation (hatred) are fundamentally no different than those of ISIS itself.
Thank you for giving voice to the position that as Canadians we seek to assist victims of violence and war and not to reject them.
