All I can say this week is thank goodness for the diligence, dedication and heroism of Yukon MP Ryan Leef in apprehending the nefarious criminal mastermind Carrie Boles last week.
For those of you who are sensitive to graphic details of horrendous crimes, you may want to stop reading now.
Leef, a former RCMP officer and MMA fighter, along with his campaign manager Darren Parsons staked out some election signs along the highway by hiding out in the bush. Sure enough, along came Boles whom they caught red-handed defacing the signs.
The two men, at great risk to themselves, bravely defended our democracy by twisting the dangerous 110-pound woman’s arms behind her back and handcuffing her in a citizen’s arrest.
Now, some people have made fun of this situation, but it is no laughing matter.
It is absolutely unconscionable that the RCMP let this terrorist off with a warning.
Under the new Anti-Terrorism Act, it is illegal for anyone to engage in “activity that undermines the security of Canada.â€
That is, in part, defined as “(a) interference with the capability of the Government of Canada in relation to intelligence, defence, border operations, public safety, the administration of justice, diplomatic or consular relations, or the economic or financial stability of Canada.â€
Since we all now know that only the Conservative Party of Canada cares about and is capable of keeping Canadians safe, attempting to undermine Conservative candidates’ chances of getting reelected is essentially treason.
Boles committed a very serious crime and is now free to do God knows what next.
To those who are griping that Leef and Parsons far overstepped the Department of Justice’s guidelines on making citizen’s arrests, all I can say is, if you’re not with Leef, you’re with the terrorists.
