Dear Editor,
In response to Mr. Wood’s letter to the editor, thank you Mr. Wood.
I was also sickened and saddened by the horrific images and article on the “Redneck Riot Coyote Derby”.
Mr. Chaban said “fun was had by everyone”. Humans are the only creatures who kill for fun and entertainment. Coyotes only kill to sustain their lives. They find no pleasure in it.
My first thought was, how was this done? We’ve heard of people running coyotes down with their snowmobiles. Was this how the coyotes were killed?
I understand that at times we have to kill, but it should never be done for fun or entertainment. Mr. Chaban, all life is precious. Maybe you should take time to get to know your fellow creatures. They have families, are more monogamous, more loyal than most of us, and they don’t party when they kill.
Humans are the only creatures on this earth who upset the balance of nature, Mr. Chaban, and friends don’t interfere.
Remember, “All Life is Precious”.
