SASKATOON — Sunday’s structure fire at the 2100 block of St. George Avenue started in the kitchen, based on the result of the investigation of the Saskatoon Fire Department.
The Fire Investigator concluded that the cause of the fire was accidental due to internal heating of discarded oily rags. The fire originated in the kitchen that caused $150,000 in damage.
The SFD responded to the call at 4:04 a.m. Sunday and fire crews who first arrived on the scene saw a fire well advanced into fully involved state.
The fire burned through the structure's roof and some interior collapse occurred as a result. No civilians or firefighters were injured as a result of this fire.
