After a truck and trailer unit was struck by a train on the north side of Canora on January 16, the truck driver faces charges, said a release from the Canora RCMP detachment.
           At approximately 2:05 p.m. the Canora RCMP, EMS and fire department responded to an accident at the train tracks on the north side of Canora, near the intersection of Highway No. 9 and Highway No. 5.
           A south-bound truck pulling a cattle trailer was struck by an east-bound train. No injuries were sustained by the driver of the truck or the operator of the train. The cattle inside the trailer were uninjured.
           Highway No. 9 was closed for approximately two hours while the scene was investigated and cleared, said the release.
           The driver of the truck was charged by police under the Traffic Safety Act. Icy road conditions were a contributing factor to the accident.
