Kamsack Players theatre group and Playhouse committee planning four major events planned

聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 During November and December, the Kamsack Players theatre group and the Kamsack Playhouse committee will be holding four major events.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Their schedule of pre-Christmas activity begins at the Playhouse on November 5 when the Players will stage Dad鈥檚 Piano, a play with music by Dave Kelly.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The play stars Adrian Hovrisko of Kamsack, who is the only actor involved. It is being directed by Leanne Keys and will feature musical selections performed by Marilyn Marsh.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The play, for which Jack Koreluik is the production manager, will be re-staged at Theatre Saskatchewan鈥檚 TheatreOne competition which will be held in Regina on November 17, 18 and 19.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 On November 20, the members of the Kamsack Playhouse committee will once again be holding their annual Christmas in November show and sale of crafts and products handled by home-based businesses.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Being held at the OCC Hall, this is the one major fundraiser for the theatre, Koreluik said. It will be held from noon to 5 p.m. and in addition to the many booths of items that can be purchased for Christmas, it will include a luncheon.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 On December 2 and 3, the Players will be staging their annual dinner theatre at the OCC Hall. This year the Players have selected Scrooge MacBeth, a story of a desperate theatre company that decides to stage a 鈥淐hristmas-y鈥 Shakespearian play.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 With five actors, the play is being directed by Nancy Brunt.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 And then, on December 17, which will be the weekend before Christmas, the Playhouse will once again be the scene of a Christmas concert which will feature an assortment of local entertainment.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Such a concert has not been held for a few years, Koreluik said, adding that arrangements have been made so that during the concert a special guest from the North Pole will be visiting.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Koreluik asks that persons wishing to be included on the program contact him or may leave a message for him at the Kamsack Times office. 聽
