聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 Saskatchewan suffers cold winters, and having protection from that cold is the purpose for a fundraiser announced by the Salvation Army in a recent release.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Saskatchewan chiropractors believe that no one should withstand the province鈥檚 coldest months without socks on his or her feet, said the release, so they have formed a partnership with the Salvation Army and are running a fundraiser with the goal of collecting 10,000 pairs of socks.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Donations of new pairs and packages of socks will be accepted at chiropractic clinics across the province until November 25and will go towards the Toasty Toes Sock Drive.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Wayne Strukoff of Strukoff Chiropractic Clinic in Kamsack has a collection box set up in the reception area of the clinic where people may drop off their packages of socks.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淵ou don鈥檛 have to be a client of the clinic to make a donation,鈥 Strukoff said last week. Everyone is welcome to come in to make a donation.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The clinic is open Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Socks are an important item to protect the body鈥檚 extremities from harsh cold, the release said. Agencies that support individuals and families with limited means are often in need of socks to distribute in the winter months.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淪askatchewan chiropractors believe that the health of all Saskatchewan residents is vital, no matter what their social or financial standing is,鈥 said Dr. Kevin Henbid, president of the Chiropractors鈥 Association of Saskatchewan. 鈥淥ur community is proud to rally around the cause.鈥
