      Canora Composite School (CCS) has partnered with the Regina Food Bank to host a garden tower during the 2017/2018 school year.
           On September 27, students Logan Born, Jackson Wilson and Clayton Parker, along with Lorraine Gress, educational assistant, and Kelly Perepeluk-Nieckar, teacher, traveled to Regina to participate in the Four Seasons Urban Agriculture Project orientation, said Perepeluk-Nieckar.
           Information from the Regina Food Bank said one garden tower utilizes four square feet of space and can hold up to 72 plants. Within each tower is a tube that is used for vermicomposting, which is the use of earthworms to convert organic waste into fertilizer.
           The Four Seasons Urban Agriculture Project is a new initiative of the Regina Food Bank, made possible by sponsorship from Mosaic, Saskatchewan Alliance for Youth and Community Well-Being (SAYCW) and Co-op Community Spaces. The intention of the project is to positively impact youth health and well-being in Saskatchewan.Â
  The CCS garden tower is expected to be up and running by Education Week, October 16 – 20.Â
