A writer who credits The Canora Courier with launching his career in journalism has published an Amazon ebook intended as a lighthearted guide to Mexico鈥檚 Yucatan district.
Regis Yaworski, who worked as a 鈥減rinter鈥檚 devil鈥 (printer鈥檚 assistant) while a student at Canora Composite School (CCS), is the author of The Newbie Gringo鈥檚 Guide to The Yucatan, his third ebook on the Kindle platform.
鈥淚 don鈥檛 even really like Mexico,鈥 he says in the Amazon book description, while praising the Yucatan as an ideal retirement or winter haven; welcoming, peaceful and extremely affordable. Its capital city, Merida, ranks as one of the most attractive cities in North America and consistently scores the lowest rate of violent crime in Mexico, the US and most of Canada.
鈥淲hat really surprised me is the large number of expats from Canora, Kamsack and district identified as retired residents or expat 鈥榮nowbirds鈥 in the Yucatan,鈥 said Yaworski.
