PREECEVILLE — The Preeceville School honoured 15 graduates in a ceremony at the Preeceville Community Hall that featured the presentation of scrolls and scholarship awards on June 20.
Prior to the exercise program, the graduates hosted a supper catered to by Charlotte Chernyk. Camryn Nelson recited a prayer followed by toast to the graduates from the parents, Shannon Nelson and Bobbiann Danielson made the toast, which was replied to by Camryn Nelson and Addison Danielson. Paje Reynolds and Carley Rae Walker gave the toast to teachers which was replied to by Leslea Hanson.
Members of the 2025 graduating class were, Jackson Booker, Addison Danielson, Brody Descalchuk, Alexis Firman, Porter George, Asia Kilborn, Seann Lavega, Scott Mcnabb-Scebenski, Camryn Nelson, Hunter Nelson, Paje Reynolds, Carter Scheller, Emerson Strykowski, Carley Rae Walker and Oakley Zuk.
The program kicked off with the introduction of each graduate and their parents, who escorted them to the stage area.
Jackson Booker was escorted by his parents, Nicole and Sandy Booker, and has future plans to work before attend school for welding.
Addison Danielson was escorted by her parents Kris and Bobbiann Danielson. Addison will be continuing her education at the University of Saskatchewan in attending the early/middle years degree program.
Brody Descalchuk, escorted by his parents Darren and Shantelle Descalchuk, is currently working for Peniuk Farms in Sturgis and plans to get his 1A later on.
Alexis Firman, escorted by Joe and Keri Firman, plans to attend the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon where she has been conditionally accepted into Arts and Science, where she plans to become a dietitian in the nutrition field.
Porter George was escorted by his aunt and uncle, Lorissa and Clint Petras, and is currently working for Sky High Tree Services and Preeceville Co-op. Porter is hoping to pursue a career in engineering.
Asia Kilborn was escorted by her parents Michael Kilborn and Cheryl Schutte. She has been waitlisted into a very competitive program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Saskatoon and will continue trying to get into the Medical Radiologic Technology program, then hopes to pursue her career in a hospital working with pediatrics.
Seann Lavega was escorted by his parents Anna Marie Javelona and Hywell Peris Lavega and will be continuing his academic career in Suncrest College this fall as part of the Arts and Science program. Seann believes in the importance of giving back to one’s community and aims to commit to medical health in the future.
Scott Mcnabb-Scebenski was escorted by his mom, Tara Scebenski, and grandmother, Shelly Scebenski. After school, Scott has plans to head out to the pipelines and move forward with a career in welding.
Camryn Nelson, was escorted by her parents Jesse and Shannon Nelson and she is continuing sport at a university level in the fall, as a Huskie track athlete. She has been accepted into the University of Saskatchewan, receiving an entry scholarship of $3,000, where she will be enrolled in pre-pharmacy, with plans to graduate as a pharmacist.
Hunter Nelson, escorted by his parents, Denity and Corey Nelson. In the fall his plans are to attend Suncrest College where he has been accepted into the welding program. He plans to one day pursue a career as a Red Seal Journeyman Welder, driven by his passion for hands-on work and skilled trades.
Paje Reynolds, was escorted by her parents Trever and Gwen Reynolds. After graduation, she will be moving to Saskatoon to attend the University of Saskatchewan where she has been accepted into the Bachelor of Kinesiology/Bachelors of Education Combined Program to achieve her childhood dream of becoming a teacher.
Carter Scheller, escorted by his parents Robert and Angela Scheller, his future goal is to own and operate his own local construction company and to build, restore, and fix vintage automobiles as a hobby.
Emerson Strykowski was escorted by her parents, Jonathan and Stacey Strykowski, and in the fall, she plans to attend the University of Regina, where she has been accepted into the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Devised Performance and Theatre Creation.
Carley Rae Walker was escorted by her parents Janet and Sheldon Walker, and plans to pursue her schooling in September at MC College in Saskatoon for a certificate in hairstyling.
Oakley Zuk was escorted by her parents, Robin and Greg Zuk, and has earned an entry scholarship to the University of Saskatchewan for kinesiology, where she plans to take the next step to becoming a chiropractor or sports medicine doctor.
Heidi Paterson was the guest speaker and Paje Reynolds was the graduating class valedictorian.
Chris Balyski gave the Good Spirit School Division Board address.
Shauna Betty, Superintendent of School Operations for GSSD, presented the graduation scrolls accompanied by Doug King, principal.
The program concluded with a grand march of graduates and their escorts, followed by a parent dance.
