Canora Wheatland Lioness Club held a Ladies Night fundraising event on May 27 at the Rainbow Hall, said Darlene Senkow, Lioness representative.
Supper was provided by A Matter of Taste, followed by a fashion show and hypnotic entertainment.
The fashion show featured Xcessories by Kerry, fashion for all ages, said Senkow. Two families served as models for the evening; Shannon, Saryn, Shayna and Shiloh Leson; and Parker, Gillian and Lowell Rice. Other models were: Terry and Lori Dennis, Gail Ostafie, Doris Kopelchuk, Jody McTavish, Robin Heshka, Megan Barteski, Heather Gawrelitza and Jamie Jakubowski.
Well-known hypnotist Jamie James provided safe, clean fun to round out the evening, said Senkow.
On hand for the evening were the following students from Canora Composite School: Abbey Sakal, Janayah Merriam, Graeme Wilgosh, Jordelle Lewchuk and teacher Karen Wilgosh, who provided safe rides home for the evening. The students are raising money for a trip to Europe during the 2018 Easter Break.Â
The door prize winner was Stacey Vangen. The 50/50 draw prize went to Dodie Litowitz, while Kayle Toffan won the raffle draw.
Proceeds from the evening will be shared among Canora Hospital Auxiliary, Gateway Lodge Auxiliary, Benevolent Fund and Canora Legion.
Senkow said the Lioness Club would like to acknowledge women from Canora and the surrounding area for their support in making the event possible.
Supporting the cause were: Canora Greenhouse, Carnation Street Florals, Penguin Refrigeration, Chautauqua Greenhouse, Grandma B’s Greenhouse and Wiwcharuk Family Greenhouse.
The next Canora Wheatland Lioness Club event will be the annual Canora in Bloom dinner on July 20.
