Westview United Church didn’t have a traditional service this Maundy Thursday, April 2. Called Maundy for the mandate Jesus gave to ‘love one another’, the day remembers the act of service. On this day Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and said to be a leader they must serve. So this year, a delegation of Westview United Church folk led by Rev. Deborah Smith went into the Yorkton community to wash feet of those who serve. Feet washed included those serving at Habitat for Humanity, Yorkton Transitional House, Friendship Centre, Christ the Teacher Administration Office, Bailey’s Funeral Service, SIGN — Kid’s First and family counselling, and Shelwin House. It was a very moving experience for all. An important recognition that these folks serve the community in ways that the church can’t, and that none of us walk alone in our service. [photos by C.
