Yorkton Plumbing & Heating came on board with Habitat for Humanity in 2011/12 with the Elizabeth Project.聽 At that time Merv had connected with Justin Yawney, CEO of Yorkton Plumbing and Heating to ask if he and his company would like to get involved. Justin鈥檚 response was 鈥渨e鈥檇 love to鈥. This was the start of a great relationship.
Next project involvement was the Betts/Dunlop Project. This was Habitat鈥檚 Retro Build of a home that was moved from Brodie Avenue.聽 Yorkton Plumbing & Heating stepped up again did all the labour and material on the heating side.
With Habitat鈥檚 latest home, 鈥渢he Myrtle Project鈥, a duplex which consists of the 鈥淔aith in Action & The Hyundai Build鈥, Merv spoke with Justin again giving him plans and having a conversation about this project as Habitat鈥檚 first duplex, and shortly after the conversation Merv received a call back from Justin with YES, again
Evan Johnson, Sales Manager at Yorkton Plumbing and Heating said he is honoured to be partnering with Habitat as he knows the need is there in our community.
Justin was asked what brought him back to Yorkton, the area where he was born and raised in聽 and he said 鈥淭here is nothing like home in a smaller community, getting out of the hectic life of a big city鈥. Justin has a strong belief in giving back to community and when the opportunity came up with 鈥淗abitat for Humanity鈥 he realized it was a great cause and that every dollar of their contribution went right to the project, 100%.
