SHHS Saints of the month of February

Each month a male and a female student is selected as the SHHS Saint of the Month. Saint of the Month students are nominated by staff and students of SHHS.

Each month a male and a female student is selected as the SHHS Saint of the Month. Saint of the Month students are nominated by staff and students of SHHS. The selection is based on: Demonstrating Christian Values, School work, School Involvement, Leadership, and Community Involvement.

Jessica is fun to be around and is always willing to help others, even with her very busy life. She can brighten anyone’s day with her smile and you can always count on her. Jessica works hard in class, always doing her best. She is in French immersion and will graduate with a bilingual diploma. Jessica is a very artistic person and she is on the Honour Roll with distinction. In the school and community, you can find her playing for Channel 22, in choir and dancing with Dance Innovations for 12 years. She teaches rec jazz, sings outside of school (she sang O Canada at the Chamber of Commerce) and was a crowd pumper for WE Day. Jessica is involved with Yorkton music festival and represented Canada at the 2014 World Tap Championships in Germany. Jessica is a retreat leader, an SRC Social Justice Rep, assists and instructs dance for 6 years and was a French Ambassador in 2015.  She also attends St. Gerard’s parish.

Nick is a very friendly person with a good sense of humour. He is conscientious and tries hard in all his classes. Nick gets his work done and handed in on time. His school and community involvement is extensive. He is a member of the provincial silver medal winning boys soccer team where he won the scoring title for the team as a grade 9 student. He also won rookie of the year. Nick is a member of the cross country team, is in choir, musical, high performance, soccer academy and plays junior badminton. He is involved in the community with piano, Ukrainian dance, refs soccer, and plays soccer with Yorkton United. He also won an award with community soccer, scoring the most goals on the team in the fall.  Nick attended WE Day and wants to become a leader for it. Nick won the Golden boot award at Sask soccer for most goals in the provincial soccer league. He also attends mass at St. Mary’s parish every Sunday.
