鈥淲inning the lottery, it鈥檚 a feeling like I鈥檝e never felt before,鈥� said Derick Neufeld, Saskatchewan鈥檚 newest $2,000,010 WESTERN 649 and EXTRA winner. 鈥淚鈥檝e always hoped, but I didn鈥檛 think it would actually happen to me!鈥�

Neufeld was visiting Winnipeg when he decided to pick up a WESTERN 649 ticket at the 7-Eleven Food Store located at 1863 Henderson Highway. He checked his ticket when he returned to Saskatoon.
听
鈥淚 scanned the ticket on the self-checker and thought I鈥檇 won $200,010,鈥� he said. 鈥淚 scanned it again and realized that I鈥檇 won $2,000,010! Then I took the ticket to the retailer and got him to confirm it for me.鈥�
听
鈥淭hings went a little crazy after that!鈥� he continued. 鈥淚 called my wife and said, 鈥榊ou鈥檙e never going to believe this 鈥� I won $2 million!鈥欌��

The happy winner said he has a few ideas for his winnings, but he hasn鈥檛 set anything in stone.
听
鈥淭he halo guy on my right shoulder is saying, 鈥業nvest; plan for the future,鈥欌�� he laughed. 鈥淭he guy on my other shoulder is saying, 鈥榃oohoo! Get a party bus 鈥� Craven on wheels!鈥� We鈥檙e going to find some middle-ground.鈥�

鈥淗onestly, this amount of money, it鈥檚 life-changing, but it鈥檚 not life-altering,鈥� he continued. 鈥淚t鈥檚 going to help position ourselves to live a little easier, and that鈥檚 fantastic!鈥�

Neufeld won his top-prize on the May 4 WESTERN 649 draw. His $2 million-winning numbers were 2, 10, 19, 36, 39 and 43. He won $10 in subsidiary prizes.听
