More than 700 groups and organizations across the province are receiving approximately $1.5 million through the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)鈥檚 charitable gaming grant program.
鈥淰olunteers in our communities are the people that coach minor sports, the local residents who work to raise funds for a new community facility or the individuals that tirelessly give their time to a service club,鈥 Minister responsible for SLGA Don McMorris said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e grateful to have such generous people in our communities and our government is pleased to recognize those efforts by providing additional dollars through the charitable gaming grant program to help organizations continue their good work.鈥
Among the grants provided by SLGA this quarter: Melville and surrounding area received $97,524; Swift Current and surrounding area: $62,789; North Battleford and surrounding area: $59,690; Humboldt and surrounding area: $39,698 and Lloydminster and surrounding area: $34,320.
