As if having a million things to do to prepare for her daughter Kathleen鈥檚 August 29 wedding wasn鈥檛 enough, Kara Molnar wound up stranded on the highway with the wedding tent.
On August 27, Kara and her son Christopher headed for Regina where they picked up the tent and some other rented supplies. On the way back to Yorkton, just outside White City, their rented trailer blew its axle.
It was a setback they did not need with just two days to go before the wedding. Kara was frantic calling around on her mobile phone to try and find another trailer, but there was none to be had.
Then Ron Roteliuk, a community safety officer with the R.M. of Edenwold, pulled up to offer assistance.
鈥淢y first words to him were 鈥榙o you have a trailer I can rent鈥,鈥 Kara said. 鈥淚t was fortuitous that he did.鈥
He didn鈥檛 want any money, however. He loaned them his own trailer for the weekend.
鈥淗e was a super, super nice guy,鈥 Kara said. 鈥淚鈥檝e always had a high regard for humanity, but what he did was above and beyond.鈥
The rest of the wedding went off without a hitch鈥攅xcept for the requisite hitching of the bride and groom, of course.
They returned the trailer on the Monday following the wedding along with a thank you card and gift card.
鈥淗is random act of kindness saved our day,鈥 Kara said.
