RTM building a go

Yorkton Council gave final approval to a Discretionary Use application for a dwelling Manufacturing Facility (Off-Site) at 351 and 371 Imperial Street at its regular meeting Monday.

Yorkton Council gave final approval to a Discretionary Use application for a dwelling Manufacturing Facility (Off-Site) at 351 and 371 Imperial Street at its regular meeting Monday.

"The applicant has a tentative agreement in place for lease of the subject lands. The applicant intends to construct RTM dwellings at the location and use the highway exposure to showcase completed homes. In the future, there may be a possibility of having a sales office on the site. The applicant has indicated that the lands will be re-graded and surfaced with gravel. This is an acceptable form of surfacing (instead of asphalt) as access is from Imperial Street, which is unpaved. A row of landscaping, including trees, will be required as part of the Development Permit, should Council grant approval for the proposed use," detailed a report circulated to Council Sept. 12.

Council approved public notification for the subject application on Sept. 12. The proposed Discretionary Use was advertised and circulated in accordance with the public notification requirements of the City of Yorkton.
Michael Eger, Planner with the City told Council this Monday no objections were received from the public after the public notification process.

The discretionary use was unanimously supported by Council.
