On the January 25 weekend 139 Sea Cadets from across Saskatchewan met in Regina for a weekend Seamanship competition. The competition consisted of Seamanships skills from coiling and heaving a line at a target, semaphore (communication with flags), whipping and splicing rope, creating a ceremonial paddle with decorative knot work and constructing sheerlegs (a mechanical boom to lift loads onto a ships deck), the winning team will be going to a competition at HMCS Esqumalt on Vancouver Island.
