Volunteer and Health Promotion Coordination positions have been filled in Esterhazy/Langenburg and Kamsack. The position in Esterhazy is a newly created expansion of the Volunteer Resources portfolio that brings healthcare volunteer coordination to benefit clients in the communities of Esterhazy, Langenburg, and outlying areas. Healthcare volunteers are an integral part of creating healthy communities with boundless rewards for clients and health care professionals and personal satisfaction for those volunteering.

The Esterhazy position is located in the Home Care office and is available every Monday and Tuesday as well as alternating Wednesdays from the hours of 8:30 and 4:00. The Kamsack position is located in the Kamsack Home Care office and is available every Thursday and Friday as well as alternating Wednesdays from the hours of 8:30-4:00. In 2013, there were 1,900 requests for volunteer assistance filled throughout the Sunrise Health Region. This translates into approximately 4,600 hours of volunteer service that made it easier for health care professionals to do the things that they are specifically trained to do. Healthcare volunteers have two basic roles:

1. To assist Sunrise Health Region team members

2. To provide service and support to clients in healthcare facilities and communities.
