Dr. Fay Myers, President and CEO of Parkland College has been recognized with Colleges and Institutes Canada鈥檚 (CICan) Distinguished Service Award for her many years of dedicated work on behalf of Canadian students and colleges.
Dr. Myers has been President and CEO of Parkland College for over 18 years where she oversaw transformation and growth seen by few colleges. During her tenure, the College has strengthened, evolved, and excelled at meeting the training and education needs of students, communities, and industry in the Parkland region and beyond.
鈥淔ay Myers鈥� contribution to Canada鈥檚 colleges and institutes has been tremendous and reaches well beyond the walls of Parkland College鈥�, says CICan President and CEO, Denise Amyot. 鈥淥ver her long and distinguished career, she has been a tireless advocate for technical education and has made a significant contribution to the field of adult education both locally and nationally.鈥�
Dr. Myers is also credited with creating an entrepreneurial culture of growth at Parkland College and entering the international education market through international education projects and international student recruitment. Her numerous contributions to post-secondary education and training in Saskatchewan have already been recognized on several occasions and in 2012 she received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Colleges and Institutes Canada is the national and international voice of Canada鈥檚 publicly supported colleges, institutes and polytechnics. It works with industry and social sectors to train 1.5 million learners of all ages and backgrounds at campuses serving over 3,000 urban, rural and remote communities in Canada. The Association operates in 29 countries via 12 offices around the world.
