Multicultural Week Nov. 17-25 was unanimously approved by Yorkton Council at its regular meeting after a request for the designation was made by the Yorkton branch of the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan. The province was the first to pass multiculturalism legislation back in 1974. Here Yorkton Mayor Bob Maloney presents the proclamation to Darlene Stakiw and Edith Montesclaros.
