A Melville man facing a charge of criminal negligence was granted bail at the Yorkton court on Nov. 29.
听
Tristan Stradeski, 22, was released on recognizance at $2000. He will be staying at his mother鈥檚 residence in Melville with a 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew.
听
Stradeski鈥檚 defense attorney pointed to his lack of a criminal record and his supportive family as reasons for granting him bail.
听
鈥淭here is a plan in place,鈥 she said. 鈥淗e can be released to the community.鈥
听
Stradeski is charged with causing bodily harm by criminal negligence and discharging a firearm with intent.
听
The Crown attorney argued that the gravity of the charges provided ample reasons to deny Stradeski bail.
听
鈥淚t鈥檚 a very serious offense,鈥 he said. 鈥淗e鈥檚 definitely a flight risk.鈥
听
The presiding judge disagreed, satisfied with the defense鈥檚 plan.
听
鈥淚 see the support of his family,鈥 he said.
听
The judge granted Stradeski release, stating that the accused must not consume drugs or alcohol.

On Nov. 23, an intruder attempted to break into Stradeski鈥檚 basement living quarters in Melville. Stradeski fired shots from a rifle and inadvertently wounded the resident of the floor above him.
The case has been adjourned until Dec. 11 in Melville.
