Health Foundation Donation

President Peter Wyatt, Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 77, presented a cheque to Ross Fisher, Executive Director, of The Health Foundation, to finish off the Foundation鈥檚 campaign to raise the money to buy 25 monitors. 聽

鈥淲e have been great supporters of the work of The Health Foundation for many years now,鈥 said Peter Wyatt. 鈥淭he equipment we buy is a benefit to our members and to the veterans who might have to use the hospital. Of course, everyone in the community also uses the equipment.鈥

鈥淕enerally, we take a portion of the funds raised through the annual Poppy Campaign to help our local healthcare and other community projects. This past year $25,000 was raised in the annual poppy campaign, and the majority of that money has been used to support community activities and organizations. The first focus of the Poppy Campaign is to assist our Veterans and today鈥檚 Canadian Soldiers who are often suffering from PTSD when they come home,鈥 continued Mr. Wyatt.

鈥淲e are grateful for the help of the Yorkton Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion,鈥 said Ross Fisher. 鈥淭he Legion has helped us to purchase many pieces of equipment for the regional hospital over the last few years.

This bedside monitor system can access the latest information on the patient, including nursing assessment, laboratory and X-ray test results on these monitors. The information is available to the physician when they are talking to the patient at the bedside. The doctor can review those test results with the patient and the patients鈥 family.
