held a fundraiser barbecue at the Legacy Co-op grocery store location in Yorkton Saturday.

Habitat for Humanity is a ‘Hand up, not a Handout’ program which believes people should have the opportunity of owning safe, affordable homes. This helps build a stronger and better community, one home at a time.

Studies show that Habitat families have:

· Improved health, are involved in more physical activities, smoking less

· More actively involved in their communities and neighbourhoods, and more active in voting

· Parents were able to work fewer jobs, with higher income

· Children were much more likely to graduate from post-secondary education programs
