On Monday, May 6, over 1000 band students from the Good Spirit School Division will come together at the Gallagher Centre Flexi Hall to perform a massed band concert to celebrate Music Monday.
Music Monday is an event orchestrated by the Coalition for Music Education in Canada which celebrates and advocates for quality music education in Canadian Schools. This year is the 15th edition of Music Monday The highlight of Music Monday is the performance of Canadian Jazz legend Oscar Peterson鈥檚 鈥淗ymn to Freedom鈥�, by music students from across Canada at thousands of local concerts.
The Yorkton Music Monday concert will take place at 12:30 PM at the Gallagher Centre Flexi Hall and is open to the public. Admission is free. The concert will be hosted by Mayor Bob Maloney, and will feature the band students and First Nations drummers from the Good Spirit School Division
