The Royal Canadian Legion Alexander Ross Branch #77 has been distributing funds for the poppy campaigns. The mandate of the campaign is to fund groups and projects that benefit veterans in the community, and the program gave $1,000 each to different groups in the city. Those groups included the Army Cadets, the Navy League Cadets, the Air Cadets, Meals on Wheels and the SIGN Senior Mobility Program.
