Twenty-four new apartments are being planned for 138 and 148 Catherine Street - the former C.J. Houston School site.
"The proposed development is to be considered under the Planned Unit Development provisions of Zoning Bylaw, as the two buildings are to be constructed on a single parcel of land, sharing access, parking and amenity. Subject to public notification requirements, Council approval is required in order for Administration to issue a Development Permit," detailed a report circulated to Yorkton Council at its regular meeting Monday.
"The proposed setbacks, site coverage and parking provisions are consistent with the zoning regulations for Apartment dwellings. The floor plans will provide for either 750 sq. ft. or 850 sq. ft. units, which is dependent on market demand (and to be determined prior to issuance of any building permits). Units will be configured with two bedrooms each."
Council unanimously approved authorizing City Administration to proceed with the Public Notice Process for a proposed Planned Unit Development.
