CANORA - With 40 players registered so far, practices are underway for the Canora Soccer Club 2025 season.
Club president Taunya Kondratoff said practices are being held every Thursday until the end of June at the Canora Composite School field.
There will be four Canora teams this season: U5, U7, U9 and U11/13.
Unlike some other sports, Canora Soccer Club accepts new player registrations throughout the season.
“So far I have 40 kids registered, but it goes up and we get lots on the first practice that didn’t know they had to register online. This is compared to 60 kids registered last year.”
If players have a 2021 birthday or older, they are old enough to register.
The full schedule was still a work in progress at press time, but they will be holding a mini tournament with Springside and Kamsack, and Canora will also attend the Yorkton Jamboree on June 21.
Kondratoff said being involved with the Canora Soccer Club is a rewarding experience.
“Soccer is a low cost sport that most kids can participate in, and I hope to see many kids in the community and surrounding communities attend in the coming weeks.”
They are still looking for coaches for the U5 to U9 age groups. More information is available at the Canora Soccer Club Facebook Page.
