CANORA — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 38 calls from June 12 to June 19, some of which included:
- three 911 Act calls,
- two abandoned vehicles,
- four assaults,
- two criminal harassments,
- two disturbing the peace,
- one distributing intimate image without consent,
- five mischiefs,
- two offender management calls,
- two suspicious persons,
- two traffic collisions,
- 10 traffic offenses,
- one uttering threats,
- one wellbeing check,
- one prisoner, and
- one Child, Youth and Family Services Act call.
Not the place to answer nature’s call
On June 18, the Canora RCMP received a report that a man in Preeceville has intentionally been answering nature's call in his neighbours’ trees. A male suspect has been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
Intoxicated with youngster
The Canora RCMP were dispatched on June 15 to a call in Canora concerning an intoxicated woman walking with a child. Police located the woman and the child. Yorkton Child and Family Services was contacted to assist with the call.
Neighbour dispute
A man contacted the Canora RCMP on June 12, reporting his neighbours were yelling at him and threatening to sue over spreading false information in town. A second call was received from the other party wanting to report the original caller for taking pictures of them. Police spoke to both parties involved about the incidents.
Residential assault
On June 12, the Canora RCMP were dispatched to a residence in the Canora area for an assault. The caller reported being kicked by a man in the residence. Police attended the home and arrested a man for assault. The man was released from custody on an undertaking to have no contact with the victim.
